ALPHA Color was established 1962 in Korea. The Company started by developing water color and ALPHA poster color paints. This later lead to the launch of the Alpha 700 which was launched as the first professional poster colors in Korea with 700 trials and experiments. This product was first exported to Singapore and Alpha was selected as a "recommended company for colors from Korea Arts Association". After developing acrylic colors and upgrading the design, Alpha poster colors Published the "Art Material Studies" in 1984.

In 1991, Alpha was registered as a member of International Art Material Trading Association (NAMTA). 3 years later the export of Alpha products grew to 50 countries worldwide. At this point Alpha also became a member of ACMI (Art & Creative Materials Institute, USA). In 2002 Alpha was awarded an excellence award for the product graphics in Best Package Design Competition. Later the Company received an Award in the Category of Power-Brand, Korean Management Innovation. One year later the Alpha Marker Pen received the Pin up Design Award. In 2009, the Alpha Marker acquired AP Mark.
